Our defence sector client is currently recruiting SC cleared Systems Engineers for initial 6 month contracts. The contracts offer a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days onsite in Bristol and the remainder working from home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of engineering artefacts, working directly for Delivery Teams which have the greatest need within the Combat Systems, Electronics and Sensors and/or Systems Engineering domains.

  • Manage the delivery of all engineering aspects in area of responsibility as defined in the assignment specification or objectives including managing the acquisition safety aspects (but will not hold safety delegation).
  • Provide expert advice and guidance in own technical area to solve complex technical problems and identify application risks.
  • Manage the technical requirements for the acquisition lifecycle stage of one or more project, programme, service, or system.
  • Monitor and implement any governance and assurance policies and procedures to ensure the ‘safe & professional’ status of the area led.
  • Lead on the development of requirements related to own area of specialism including acceptance plans, performance criteria and draft specifications.
  • Interface with industry as the intelligent customer both in a scrutiny role and supporting the identification of application risks.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in GEAR and managing projects through the full CADMID lifecycle.
  • Ability to work with Sub-Contractors and OEMs in developing SoW and supporting in staging PDR’s and CDR’s as required.
  • Working Knowledge of Programme Mgmt methodologies and prior experience or working in an integrated project team to devise WBS, MDAL and identifying Technical Risk to aid procurement activities.
