Our defence sector client is currently recruiting SC cleared Environmental Engineers for initial 6 month contracts. The contracts offer a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days onsite in Bristol and the remainder working from home.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the Environmental Protection advice and guidance given within a major delivery area or Operating Centre.
- Responsible for management of improvement plans for Environmental management implementation.
- Leads the development and maintenance of policy and process to satisfy the corporate standards for Environmental Management.
- Conduct reviews, audits and inspections to ensure that the organisation meets and maintains compliance against applicable UK and EU legislation, directives and regulations, and MOD regulations where they differ or are specific to the organisation.
- Undertake assessments and critiques of Environmental Protection work, as a team member or independently. Is responsible for ensuring that the technical solutions for managing or controlling Environmental risk deliver and maintain the technical performance of the project
EXPERIENCE
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Science affiliation
- Expert / Practitioner status in Environmental disciplines.
- Member of a relevant Professional Environmental or Engineering Institute.
- Extensive experience in the use of ASEMS and use of Environment Management Tools & Processes.
- Management of an Environmental Team undertaking high risk and high consequence activities.
- A minimum of Level 6 qualification in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
ILLUSTRATIVE ASSIGNMENTS
- Environmental specialist leading a team working across multiple portfolios of work.
- Environmental lead developing policy, process, tools and techniques in a corporate or domain central Environmental team.
- Environmental advisor/ auditor working across multiple delivery teams and domain areas.
