Our defence sector client is currently recruiting SC cleared Environmental Engineers for initial 6 month contracts. The contracts offer a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days onsite in Bristol and the remainder working from home.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and maintenance of policy and process to satisfy the corporate standards for Environmental Management.
- Develops, manages and maintains effective Environmental Management Systems.
- Identifies and analyses environmental impacts and contributes to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures, ensuring that these are adequately documented and managed
- Work with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance with relevant UK and EU legislation and regulations, MOD regulations and Policy.
- Ensures compliance with POEMS to ensure that the projects EMS is robust and proportionate to the level of environmental challenge.
- Produces, reviews, endorses and recommends acceptance of environmental artefacts.
- Oversees the management of contractual aspects to ensure environmental requirements are captured and the management of contractors who perform environmental activities.
- Provides informed environmental advice to decision makers through Project Environmental Panels
EXPERIENCE
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineering or Science professional affiliation or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- Practitioner status in Environmental practices.
- Member of a relevant Professional Environmental Institute or equivalent body.
- Extensive experience in the use of ASEMS and use of Environmental Management Tools & Processes.
- Substantial experience in an environmental protection role and experience of developing an Environmental Management System.
- A minimum of Level 4 NQF in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
ILLUSTRATIVE ASSIGNMENTS
- Environmental Manager / Advisor working in single or multiple project areas.
- Environmental Manager / Advisor developing policy, process, tools and techniques in a corporate or domain central Environmental team.
- Environmental advisor / auditor working across multiple delivery and domain areas.
