Sensors Engineering Manager - Bristol

Our defence sector client is recruiting for an SC cleared Sensors Engineering Manager to be based within their Underwater and Electronic Warfare (UEW) team, acting as the Lead Engineering Manager for major Sensors equipment and systems fitted to Royal Navy front line warships and submarines. This role will require onsite presence at the clients site in Bristol for 2 days a week. The contract is initially until the end of March 2025 and offers a day rate of up to £570 per day (Inside IR35).

TASKS

• Lead the development of the Engineering Management Plan for the Sensors portfolio.
• Chair PSECs and support required Safety artefacts.
• Lead on Technical changes to the portfolio by interfacing with Industry on technical issues – including integration, obsolescence, JICs, Concessions.
• Lead on Security assurance for the Sensors portfolio, in support of the team’s Security advisor.
• Developing the supporting Engineering documentation making sure that the RACI, System Requirements, ITEAP (FATs, HATs, SATs), etc. are in accordance with the Common Support Model (CSM) and GEAR.
• Combat Systems Integration Assurance liaising with the Combat Systems Design Authority (CSDA & SSCSG) to process CIAPs, CCUs, etc.
• Provision of expert advice and guidance on technical issues arising and interface with industry for swift resolution

EXPERIENCE

• Recent Sonar or EW Knowledge and experience
• Maritime background with engineering and safety management experience.
