Our defence sector client is currently recruiting SC cleared Safety Engineers for initial 6 month contracts. The contracts offer a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days onsite in Bristol and the remainder working from home.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policy and process to satisfy the corporate standards for Acquisition Safety Management.
- Work with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance with relevant UK and EU legislation and regulations, MOD regulations and Policy.
- Supports the development and management of effective Safety Management Systems. Identifies and analyses hazards and contributes to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures, ensuring that these are adequately documented and managed
- Specifies safety-related systems architectures up to the highest safety integrity levels.
- Manages contractual aspects to ensure safety requirements are captured and manages contractors who perform safety activities.
- Provides informed safety advice to decision makers through Project Safety Panels
EXPERIENCE
- Holds, or working towards, Practitioner status in System Safety.
- Professionally Registered status or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Member of a relevant Professional Safety Institute or equivalent body.
- Experience in the use of ASEMS and System Safety Management Tools & Processes.
- Level 4 NQF in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of safety products or services.

- System Safety Manager / Advisor working in single or multiple project areas.
- Systems Safety Manager / Advisor developing policy, process, tools and techniques in a corporate or domain central Safety team.
- System Safety Auditor / Advisor working in single or multiple project areas.
