Our defence sector client is currently recruiting SC cleared Environmental Engineers for initial 6 month contracts. The contracts offer a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days onsite in Bristol and the remainder working from home.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policy and process to satisfy the corporate standards for Environmental Management.
- Work with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance with relevant UK and EU legislation and regulations, MOD regulations and Policy.
- Supports the development and management of effective Environmental Management Systems. Identifies and analyses environmental impacts and contributes to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures, ensuring these are adequately documented and managed.
- Specifies system-specific environmental requirements with consideration for the environmental consequences of the wider system of systems.
- Manages contractual aspects to ensure environmental requirements are captured and manages contractors who perform environmental activities.
- Provides informed environmental advice to decision makers through Project Environmental Panels
EXPERIENCE
- Holds, or working towards, Practitioner status in Environmental practices.
- Professionally Registered status or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Member of a relevant Professional Environmental Institute or equivalent body.
- Experience in the use of ASEMS and use of Environmental Management Tools & Processes.
- Level 4 NQF in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
- Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of environmental products or services.
ILLUSTRATIVE ASSIGNMENTS
- Environmental Manager / Advisor working in single or multiple projects areas.
- Environmental Manager / Advisor developing policy, process, tools and techniques in a corporate or domain central Environmental team.
- Environmental Auditor / Advisor working in single or multiple projects areas.
