What we're looking for:

• Experience across a broad range of engineering disciplines, with strong judgement in the maritime waterfront environment

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll support the NSoIT(D) Programme by managing programme-level change control within an intricate environment. Your key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining change management policies, capturing and triaging Change Requests, and providing detailed reporting to governance forums such as Programme Boards and Working Groups. You’ll work closely with Product Owners, the Programme System Design Authority, and senior stakeholders, ensuring the seamless integration of change demands within the programme’s roadmap and PIs.

Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

• Developing and implementing Change Management Policies for the programme in the first 6 months.
• Managing day-to-day Change Requests and change logs with efficiency.
• Producing regular change summaries and reports for senior decision-makers.
• Supporting quarterly reviews of outstanding changes, informing programme planning.
• Yearly review and update of the change management policy, ensuring alignment with MOD and Defence Digital policies.

Who you are:

• The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing programme-level change control in large, complex projects—preferably within Defence, government, or similar highly regulated environments.
• You’ll be adept at capturing, analysing, and documenting change demands, supporting governance, and working confidently across multiple security domains.
• Strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are a must.
• Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery models and experience supporting senior governance forums will be highly advantageous.
• Qualifications such as APM, PRINCE2, MSP, ITIL, or Agile are desirable.

What you’ll be doing

You will work within the SIAD Delivery Team, contributing to the GOSHAWK project, which involves developing safety documentation, managing safety for trial activities, and acting as a key interface with stakeholders, including customer representatives, suppliers, and range providers. Your expertise will help to develop and execute safe trial plans while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations.

What we’re looking for

Essential experience:

• Proven engagement with assurance authorities and management of engineering safety processes
• Experience working with DE&S Engineering Policy
• Knowledge of OME, DOSR, and DSA Regulations
• Hands-on experience with DE&S Safety and Environmental Management Systems
• Experience preparing for OME trials and related activities

Desirable experience:

• Background in GiK or rapid procurement projects

About the Role

Our client, a leading defence organisation, is seeking a Contract DGM Safety Manager to play a key role in ensuring the safety and environmental compliance of a wide product portfolio that supports military operations worldwide. You will be instrumental in helping the team execute their Return to Green (RTG) plan by reviewing and updating Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs), developing safety cases to support procurement activities, and engaging with regulators. This position offers an engaging environment where your safety expertise directly impacts operational readiness and safety assurance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Reviewing and updating existing Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs) across product families within the DGM portfolio.
• Developing safety cases to support Outline Business Case (OBC) and Full Business Case (FBC) for ammunition procurement.
• Updating hazard logs and conducting hazard identification and risk analysis.
• Supporting the development of certification plans and engaging with the Regulator to secure safety assurance.
• Contributing to safety review panels and achieving OME Assurance Statements (OAS).
• Assisting in the implementation of the RTG plan to bring safety management back to an optimal state.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in Safety Management within DE&S.
• Incorporated Engineer (or equivalent) with demonstrable safety case development experience.
• Strong track record in writing and reviewing SECRs and developing safety arguments.
• Knowledge in hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident analysis.

Desirable

• Understanding of OME (Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives) regulations.
• Risk management expertise.
• Commercial and project management experience within procurement environments.
