We are looking to recruit a Quality and Safety Manager to help drive the site to achieve full compliance  to  its Quality, Safety & Environmental requirements through development and execution of robust improvement plan in line with the site's objectives.


 

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Responsibility for site KPI’s, to set objectives and to provide systems for measuring and
    reporting those KPI’s.
  • Where necessary cascade tasks and objectives down to the team to help the site achieve its
    targets
  • To manage the personnel within the Quality department and assist in developing the wider
    site team to ensure that site objectives are met and to identify training/development
    requirements and maintain training evidence and records in line with company procedures.
  • Represent the site in all first, second and third party quality or technical audits to maintain
    and/or gain necessary accreditations or approvals required for the business and lead
    responsibility for any non-conformance actions.
  • Facilitate effective Root Cause & Corrective Action as necessary.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement methodologies. Perform site inspection product/process
    verification activities/audits as necessary.
  • Perform Customer Visits.
  • Perform supplier visits and audits for Key suppliers
  • Identify trends & maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain effective timely no surprise reporting.
  • Support LEAN initiatives and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • To manage and monitor site quality, processes, and to maintain the necessary site
    approvals to satisfy Quality and customer-specific standards.
  • Liaise with customers, managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure QMS is
    functioning correctly within the business.
  • Liaise with production to determine inspection schedules and to ensure any related issues
    are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary where they are affected by or impact upon
    quality issues.
  • Adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach to problem-solving, resolution or quality issues and customer
    complaints as per company procedures with a high-level attention to detail required.
  • To uphold your statutory duty of care for your own personal safety and that of others who
    may be affected by your acts or omissions.
  • To enable the company to meet its own legal duties and to report any hazardous situations
    or defective equipment.
  • Interact with other departments within the site to identify and develop the approach to
    continual improvement.
  • Ensure a high level of communication to employees, managers & colleagues and maintain a
    no surprises culture.
  • Maintain a tidy & safe working environment.


Education, Skills and Experience

  • Formal qualification to degree standard or equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrable Engineering knowledge Experience in NADCAP / AS9100 / ISO9001
    preferred
  • Attention to detail and must lead by example
  • Managing Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Managing and Installing QMS Systems
  • Attention to detail and must lead by example
  • Managing a team
  • Metallurgy and/or Thermal Spray experience.

Maximum package

  • Salary Up to £40,000
