Evodia Limited is working closely with a Defence industry client to find a highly skilled Submarine Naval Architect for a contract based in Bristol. If you hold SC security clearance and have expertise in hydrodynamics and propulsion systems, this could be an excellent opportunity for you to make an impactful contribution to a high-profile project.
Role Overview
This role offers a hybrid working model, balancing remote flexibility with regular access to our client’s secure facilities in Bristol, ensuring you can work effectively while accessing SECRET information as required. The team you’ll join is small yet vital, responsible for certifying and developing rules and guidance within the realm of Submarine Naval Architecture. Your expertise will support areas like M&C, Stability, and Propulsion, with the opportunity to lead technical activities and investigations pivotal to submarine safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the MSCA PROP capability area, providing expertise and leadership.
- Prepare and deliver TCG / QTR summary presentations.
- Develop CASP and TAF documentation aligned with certification protocols.
- Support the MoD Endorsed PROP milestone.
- Act as NARO (or provide guidance prior to NARO delegation) for KHA Submarine Stability.
- Review NARO documentation and NAF responses to support certification tasks.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Naval Architect (Masters level or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in submarine hydrodynamics.
- Strong background in ship or submarine propulsion, including Verification & Validation (V&V) techniques.
- SC Clearance minimum, with eligibility for SUKEO data access.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of acoustic measurement techniques and theory.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) and/or Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (MRINA).
- DV security clearance is highly desirable.
Contract Details
- Location: Bristol, with hybrid and flexible working considerations.
- Contract Duration: Until 30th September 2026, with scope for extension.
- Day Rate: Between £420 and £570 (Inside IR35).
- Standard Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day.
- Start Date: ASAP.
