OVERVIEW

 

Senior PM required for MoD (Abbeywood).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Scope / Tasks

 

  • Programme Manager Section head assigned oversight, management, and support of personnel responsible to perform as embedded client role and delivery of scope of work.
  • Ensure programme objectives are being effectively delivered against P,C,T and industry are held to account.
  • Ensure cross team dependencies are clearly understood and filtered down to each responsible PM owner where applicable.
  • Imbed strategic direction within area of responsibility.
  • Ensure programme governance structure is defined and is in suitable working practice.
  • Fulfil the role of embedded client (Programme Management) as per the FCAS Joint Engineering Management Plan (JPEMP) through working closely with both the Lead System Integrator (LSI) and Lead Sub System Integrators (LSSIs).
  • Act as a key interface between Industry and MoD stakeholders across Programme & Requirements Managers, Technical SMEs, Engineers and Commercial Officers.
  • Manage the team to ensure Programme Objectives are being effectively delivered against Performance, Cost and Time and that Industry are being held to account through the internal MoD Governance and reporting processes;
  • Manage GCAP & FCAS system and Component level Risks, Issues and Impediments
  • Support Core Platform Proj. Ld through validation of Cost Forecasting and Accrual against the drumbeat to ensure FOO against CT allocation is maintained
  • Oversight and management of embedded clients and Industry activity and progression through review of Artefacts and Deliverables
  • Support the programme through identification and management of ad-hoc Project Management activities.
  • Travel across multiple sites is expected in order to fulfil delivery objectives
  • Personnel assigned to this role shall have the capability, accountability and authority to specify desired outcomes on behalf of the Customer.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant Experience of leading and managing a project management team
  • APM PMQ/MSP/Prince 2 or similar desirable
    • (APM Project Management Qualification; Managing Successful programmes Foundation; Managing Successful programmes Practitioner; Projects IN Controlled Environments 2 Foundation; Projects IN Controlled Environments 2 Practitioner)
    • Relevant Post-Graduate qualification desirable
