Are you an experienced OME Engineer with security clearance and experience of applying OME disciplines in a defence environment as well as leading a small team of Engineers? Evodia Limited is partnering with a leading defence client to find a dedicated Senior OME Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape critical military systems, with options for hybrid working, requiring 3 days onsite per week.
About the Role
As a Senior OME Engineer, you'll lead the OME Integration team within the Support Ships domain, providing expert technical advice and managing key elements of acquisition for complex weapons, munitions, and pyrotechnic devices. Your expertise will support the successful delivery and sustainment of defence equipment, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain technical requirements, deliverables, and documentation, factoring in through-life support and associated costs.
- Act as an OME technical authority, reviewing and overseeing engineering documents to meet high standards of quality and compliance.
- Apply relevant legislation, regulation, and policy, contributing to updates of standards such as DSA02.
- Identify and evaluate hazards and risks, implementing mitigation strategies and documenting these effectively.
- Lead design efforts aligned with customer needs, influencing design reviews with industry partners.
- Manage testing, verification, validation, and evaluation processes for OME systems.
- Oversee system support, modifications, and assessments for certification under standards like Def Stan 05-57.
- Participate in assurance activities, audits, reviews, and manage disposals and decommissioning of equipment.
What We’re Looking For
- A Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or above.
- Extensive experience delivering successful OME engineering outcomes within a defence environment.
- Proven leadership skills, capable of guiding and mentoring a small team of engineers.
- Professional registration (IEng, RSci, RMarTech, or CPhys) with a relevant professional body.
- SC security clearance is essential for this role.
