Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer or Technical Superintendent looking for your next impactful role within the Maritime Environment? Evodia Limited is currently supporting a prestigious client in Bristol to find a qualified professional for a contract role that offers both challenge and opportunity. This role is ideal if you bring a broad expertise across engineering disciplines, combined with sound judgement to support critical safety and certification periods on Royal Navy ships. As a key player, you'll ensure maintenance work progresses smoothly, adhering to regulation, legislation, certification standards, Class Society Rules, and maritime engineering processes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing technical support and oversight during safety-critical maintenance and certification periods aboard Navy ships.
- Applying your comprehensive engineering knowledge to pragmatically navigate work at the waterfront.
- Travelling both within the UK and overseas as required, ensuring project milestones and safety standards are met.
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience delivering Tech Superintendent support during critical safety and certification maintenance periods.
- Knowledge of regulation, legislation, certification, Class Society Rules, and maritime engineering processes.
- A Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or higher.
- Professional registration with a recognised body, such as:
- Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Registered Scientist (RSci) or Chartered Scientist (CSci)
- Incorporated Marine Engineer (IMarEng) or Chartered Marine Engineer (CMarEng)
- The ability to exercise sound engineering judgement in a maritime setting.
Additional Details
- Location: Bristol, with two to three days onsite per week and the flexibility for hybrid working.
- Contract: Until 31 March 2027, with potential to extend.
- Clearance: Minimum SC security clearance required.
- Rate: Up to £570 per day (inside IR35).
- Standard hours: 7.5 hours per day.
- Start: ASAP.
