Senior Mechanical Engineer / Marine Engineer - Royal Navy Ships - SC cleared

Are you an experienced security cleared Senior Mechanical Engineer or Marine Engineer with a background in naval or marine systems? Evodia Limited is partnering with a respected client to find a talented professional to support the Royal Navy’s Ships programme, specifically working on the T23 frigate life extension and modernisation initiatives.

This opportunity is based in Bristol, with the flexibility of hybrid working, requiring three days onsite each week. The role offers a competitive day rate of up to £570 (inside IR35), with immediate start options for a contract running until 31 March 2026, with the potential for extension.

Due to the tight timescales involved, successful candidates are required to already hold a valid SC security clearance.

About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical / Marine Engineer, your expertise will be pivotal in delivering complex military capability through acquisition support. You will apply your broad technical knowledge across various engineering disciplines such as structures, dynamics, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics to ensure the successful delivery and ongoing support of Royal Navy vessels.

Your responsibilities will include generating technical requirements, managing engineering documentation, assessing risks, and maintaining a keen focus on quality, safety, security, and sustainability standards. Working in a highly regulated environment, you'll also provide guidance on legislation, regulation, and policy, ensuring systems meet regulatory and operational standards while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and industry stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Holding a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or higher
  • Extensive experience providing technical advice and delivering successful outcomes within the Ships domain, with a proven track record in Mechanical, Marine, or Mechatronic systems
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture
  • Professional registration such as IEng, CEng, RSci, CSci, IMarEng, or CMarEng
