We are partnering with a leading client to identify a skilled Safety Engineer - Land Systems to support vital projects based in Bristol. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team committed to delivering safe and effective land systems in a highly regulated environment.
Position Details
- Location: Bristol (onsite 3 to 4 days per week)
- Contract Length: Until 31st March 2026, with potential for extension
- Start Date: ASAP
- Day Rate: £350 - £425 per day (inside IR35)
Role Overview
As a Safety Engineer within our client’s project team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of acquisition safety policies and solutions. Your expertise will help ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of land systems, contributing to operational success and safety assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate technical safety requirements and documentation for land system sub-systems, considering in-service support and associated costs.
- Identify, collate, and evaluate technical safety data to support project documentation maturity.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, policies, and standards, maintaining quality, security, and sustainability in all safety cases.
- Support technical risk management activities at project and programme levels.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating safety artifacts and safety cases for equipment types.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align safety requirements and facilitate system interoperability.
- Contribute to verification, validation, testing, and evaluation activities related to system safety.
- Provide safety support for through-life modifications, operational support, and disposal activities.
- Draft technical recommendations aligned with your discipline expertise.
Candidate Profile
- Hold a Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM) qualification at RQF Level 3 or higher.
- Demonstrable experience in providing technical safety advice and delivering successful engineering outcomes within the land domain.
- Current and active SC security clearance is essential.
- Working towards or on the way to achieving professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or RSciTech with a relevant professional body/institution.
