Safety Engineer (Ajax) - SC cleared

At Evodia Limited, we’re proud to partner with a trusted client seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer with active SC clearance for an exciting contract opportunity based in Bristol. About the Role

This position offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement—working on-site in Bristol 2 to 3 days per week, with the remainder flexible for remote work. The contract runs from April 2026 until June 2026, with scope to be extended, providing a great opportunity to apply your skills within a collaborative team focused on defence and security projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and report on incidents and accidents, managing issues raised through industry processes.
  • Participate in hazard working and review groups, conducting trend analysis of safety events.
  • Review safety cases against design targets and risk assessments, ensuring compliance and thoroughness.
  • Author and peer review technical risk reports, integrating findings into hazard logs and preparing for review groups.
  • Assist in developing Safety Case Reports and generate comprehensive safety assessments.
  • Monitor mitigation plans such as modifications and change requests, ensuring safety measures are effective.
  • Support stakeholders by providing timely safety advice and ensuring BowTie analyses accurately reflect event impacts.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven engineering experience with armoured platforms in land environments.
  • Practical knowledge of systems safety and risk management.
  • Experience with eCassandra or BowTieXP tools for hazard analysis.
  • Ability to provide precise safety advice across technical themes and environments.
  • Active SC clearance.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience specific to Ajax platforms.
  • Qualification at RQF Level 4 or above (e.g., HNC or higher) in a STEM discipline.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies, such as IEng, CEng, RSci, or CSci.

Additional Details

The role offers a day rate of up to £570 (ex VAT) and is inside IR35.
