We’re partnering with a leading client in the Defence sector to find a skilled Requirements Manager specialising in Modelling & Simulation (M&S). This pivotal role is based in Northwood, with the flexibility of hybrid working and regular travel to other UK MOD locations, supporting critical Defence capabilities.
Role Overview
As Requirements Manager, you will oversee the development, validation, and management of capability requirements for synthetic Modelling & Simulation. Your expertise will ensure a seamless connection from Defence policy through to user needs.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading the elicitation of requirements from users, policy stakeholders, and operational areas.
- Developing and maintaining key documents such as the User Requirements Document (URD), CONOPS, CONUSE, and CONEMP.
- Ensuring all requirements are SMART, testable, traceable, and aligned with Defence priorities.
- Owning and managing the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and baseline.
- Managing formal change control processes and assessing impacts across requirements levels.
- Validating requirements through design reviews, supporting SOC/OBC/FBC submissions.
- Conducting capability gap analysis and developing proposals for future requirements.
- Engaging with stakeholders across FLCs, DE&S, Dstl, and other MOD entities to ensure clear communication of requirements and sponsor intent.
- Supporting risk, issue, dependency, and opportunity management related to requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in requirements management within Defence or similar high-security environments.
- Strong understanding of Defence capability governance and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and translate operational needs into structured requirements.
- Familiarity with RAIDO management processes in a requirements context.
- Experience with programme and risk management principles.
- Ability to work proactively and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Experience includes experience working in Joint/Strategic environments, knowledge of Defence M&S capability, and previous work with CAT B-D Programmes.

- Day Rate: £420 - £570 per day (inside IR35)
