Project Manager - SC Cleared

OVERVIEW

 

There are 2 teams involved – one is an in-service support team, as that is where the expertise is. They provided detailed technical support to the other team.

 

Role will involve a bit of BAU as well as providing technical support.

Their biggest contract is a CAT A within the Defence team.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop and implement an acquisition strategy aligned with Category A Approval requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of tactical development firing trials, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Manage the procurement of equipment and services required for the project.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and timelines.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure the timely delivery of equipment and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring adherence to terms and performance standards.
  • Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of documentation for Category A Approval.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve any issues or delays impacting project timelines.
  • Ensure quality assurance and control measures are in place for all deliverables.
  • Support the development of training and operational procedures for end-users.
  •  Manage and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the project.
  •  Coordinate with legal and procurement teams to ensure contract compliance.
  • Oversee the integration of new systems or equipment into existing infrastructure.
  • Conduct post-trial evaluations and implement lessons learned for future projects.

 

SKILLS & QUAIFICATIONS

 

Evidence of the following experience is required:

  • Experienced Project Manager.
  • Would suit someone who has been onboard submarines as an engineer, or a manager or a Class 1 officer.
  • Needs to be able to grasp the operation quickly so they are up and running.
  • Would support an operations manager.
  • Needs to have a fair bit of experience in operations management
  • Need to understand stock control, contract management, ensuring all milestones are met, standards being maintained, service surveillance.
  • Operations centre around complex weapons. and Operations manager will need to look at how they support and manage those weapons in service.
