Evodia Limited is proud to partner with a leading Defence organisation seeking a proactive and hands-on Project Engineer for a full-time, onsite position in Deeside, North Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for Armed Forces Service Leavers or those with relevant engineering experience to step into a dynamic environment supporting critical Defence programmes.
About the Role
This contract role, lasting 6 months, offers a chance to work within DECA MST, a specialised unit delivering innovative engineering solutions across Defence avionics, electronics, and components. You will be responsible for leading projects from conception through to delivery, employing tailored PRINCE2 and APM methodologies. The role involves an active collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, and you'll spend part of your week engaging with engineering stakeholders through meetings.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing projects from initial planning through to successful delivery
- Developing and maintaining system requirements, including support during in-service phases
- Producing comprehensive business cases covering strategic, commercial, and financial perspectives
- Evaluating and verifying technical solutions alongside engineering teams
- Managing safety risks in collaboration with the Engineering Authority
- Supporting financial planning, including forecasting and reporting
- Representing the team in cross-departmental meetings and technical discussions
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Level 4 qualification with advanced/higher apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification with recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant engineering experience
- Eligibility for EngTech registration (UK-SPEC)
- Full UK manual driving licence (travel will be required)
- Proven engineering background, ideally with a mechanical bias
- Demonstrable project delivery experience within engineering or technical environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience within Defence or regulated industries
- Knowledge of safety management practices
- Involvement in technical evaluations or product assurance processes
- Exposure to PRINCE2 or APM methodologies

- Hourly Rate: £26.25 (Inside IR35)
- SC clearance is required, candidates without current SC clearance may be considered if eligible and willing to undergo clearance
