Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) Systems Engineer – SC Cleared
At Evodia Limited, we are proud to partner with a leading defence organisation seeking a highly capable PNT Systems Engineer with current SC security clearance. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical defence projects that support national security and operational excellence.
Role Overview
This contract position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with onsite presence required in Bristol once per week..The role involves delivering key Navigation & Timing (PNT) projects, providing subject matter expertise, and supporting operational activities. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a PI Programme Manager and PI Engineering Manager, contributing to the design, verification, and documentation of electronic systems and sensors integral to defence applications.
Key Responsibilities
	- Manage the generation of ESS requirements, including technical deliverables and documentation updates, with a focus on in-service support and cost considerations.
 
	- Verify and recommend utilisation of technical data to ensure successful system delivery and project maturity.
 
	- Assess and manage risks related to safety, environment, supportability, and finances, applying appropriate escalation and transfer principles.
 
	- Design subsystems and components aligned with customer needs, balancing time, cost, and performance constraints.
 
	- Participate in system testing, verification, validation, and evaluation processes to confirm technical compliance.
 
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will hold a Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or above. They will have:
	- Experience in delivering electronic systems and sensors or mechatronic engineering outcomes within defence or related fields.
 
	- Proven ability to provide technical advice and support successful project delivery.
 
	- Registration with a recognised professional body, such as EngTech, RSciTech, MarTech, RITTech, or ICTTech.
 
	- Alternatively, a minimum of RQF Level 6 qualification in relevant disciplines.
 
Desirable Attributes
	- Experience in Position, Navigation & Timing technologies or GNSS systems.
 
	- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments.
 
Package & Contract Details
	- Location: Hybrid / Bristol (onsite 1 day per week)
 
	- Contract Length: Until 31 March 2026, with scope for extension
 
	- Day Rate: £350 to £425 (ex VAT), inside IR35
 
	- Security Clearance: Current SC clearance is essential
