Are you an experienced Safety Engineer with a background in Defence, Aerospace, or Security projects? We are working on behalf of a leading Defence company to find a SC cleared Safety Engineer for a vital project based in Bristol, on an initial 90 day contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile Air Defence capability development.
About the Role
- Location: MOD Abbeywood, Bristol (hybrid working – working from home with occasional presence in the office)
- Contract: 90 days initially, with potential for extension
- Start Date: ASAP
- Day Rate (ex VAT): Up to £570
- Security Clearance: SC required
Responsibilities at a Glance
- Support the Delivery Team within the project, ensuring safety and compliance for all activities.
- Develop and manage safety documentation in accordance with project needs and regulations.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including customer teams, suppliers, range providers, and assurance authorities.
- Plan and execute safety strategies for successful trials, particularly working with DOSR, SSR, WESCOE, and others.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience engaging with assurance authorities and managing engineering safety activities.
- Deep understanding of DE&S Engineering Policy and Safety & Environmental Management Systems.
- Hands-on experience working with OME and DOSR, DSA regulations, and OME trials preparation and management.
Desirable Qualifications
- Background in GiK or rapid procurement projects.
- Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or above (HNC or higher).
- Membership or Chartered status with a relevant Professional body (e.g., IEng, CEng, RSci, CSci).
