Our client is currently recruiting for an SC cleared Safety Engineer with experience in Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME) Safety for a contract starting ASAP until the end of March 2026 with scope to be extended. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement split between working from home and being onsite in Bristol at least once per week.
The Safety Engineer’s focus will be on the development of the SPEAR Capbility 3 (SC3) safety case in accordance with DSA.02 as the weapon progresses through its Demonstration phase towards entry into service.
The Safety Engineer shall advise the team to ensure the programme will deliver artefacts to demonstrate that policy, legislation, and defence regulation have been met and that assets are demonstrably safe. The Safety Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day activity, delivering against agreed activity and tasks and in accordance with the SC3 Safety Management Plan (SMP).
KEY TASKS
- SC3 Safety Case Report Review
- Maintenance of SC3 Safety Summary/Forward Action Plan/Void Tracker
- Update of SC3 Operational Safety & Environmental Case Report (SECR)
- Support to SC3 Operational OME Safety Review Panel (OSRP) Submission
- Annual SC3 Safety Management Plan (SMP) Review
- SC3 TSDT Hazard Log development
- Safety support to SC3 team feeding the Safety Case development
EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- DE&S safety management systems and processes (POSMS).
- Experienced in OME Safety
