OME Engineer - SC cleared

About the Role

We are working with a leading Defence company on a contract basis, seeking an OME Engineer with Security Clearance (SC). This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, based primarily in Bristol, with the flexibility to work remotely 1 to 2 days per week. The position is available ASAP and is initially scoped until 31st March 2027, with potential for extension.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide proportionate Weapons and OME safety, environmental, and engineering assurance to the Director of Logistics & Procurement (L&P), acting as the ESR for all munitions across DE&S and other Government Departments.
  • Manage JSP 815/816 submissions, assessments, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Lead SEMS management activities, including audit planning and review, maintaining dashboards, and preparing quarterly SHEC reporting.
  • Maintain and submit waiver documentation for Acquisition Safety Delegation (ASD) and support related administration.
  • Contribute to policy management, compliance tracking, development of assurance sprints, and support of DEFSTAN AMC reviews.
  • Engage in ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with OME legislation and wider engineering assurance activities, including audits and legislative registers.

Essential Experience

  • Experience with DE&S engineering policy and assurance processes.
  • Strong background working with OME DOSR and DSA regulations.
  • Proven track record within DE&S Safety and Environmental Management System frameworks.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with PowerBI for metrics dashboards and reporting.
  • Knowledge of DE&S assurance processes and related standards.
