Our client is supporting the introduction of new ammunition and needs a knowledgeable OME Engineer to help ensure the safety and effectiveness of this ammunition throughout its delivery to service. The position offers flexibility with hybrid working (1 to 2 days onsite per week), providing a balanced work environment for professionals who value both independence and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Guaranteeing new ammunition safety compliance, supporting the safety case.
- Collecting and analysing critical technical data to facilitate the introduction of new ammunition.
- Submitting all necessary documentation such as ASHE and related paperwork for introduction into service.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in Ammunition & Light-weapon assurance.
- Demonstrable background in introducing Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME) to service.
- Ability to attend trials within the UK.
- Current SC security clearance – essential for this role.
Desirable:
- Experience within the CADMID cycle, particularly Manufacture and In-Service phases.
- A relevant professional qualification at RQF Level 4 or above (such as HNC or higher).
- Membership or registration with professional bodies: IEng, CEng, RSci, or CSci.
This is a contract position running from ASAP until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role offers a day rate of up to £570 (inside IR35).
