OVERVIEW
MFP is a ‘Category A’ Government Funded Project and is the CGS’ top priority. .
This role is to provide the necessary SME support across the project to achieve the desired outcomes. Specifically managing safety requirements and documentation for the platform.
KEY TASKS
- Manage safety requirements and documentation for the platform, This includes specifying safety-related systems architectures up to the highest safety integrity levels.
- Support the development and management of effective Safety Management Systems.
- Identify and analyse hazards and contributes to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures, ensuring that these are adequately documented and managed.
- Manage relevant safety legislation, regulation, policy, processes, to deliver technical documentation This includes the essential relation to quality, safety, security, and sustainability of the platform and the interoperability with other sub-systems
- Provide informed and safety advice and guidance to decision makers in Project Safety Panels
- Participate and scrutinise the system’s safety: test, verification, validation, and evaluation process
- Manages contractual aspects to ensure safety requirements are captured and manages contractors who perform safety activities
EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge or experience of military land vehicles and associated systems
- Hold, or working towards, Practitioner status in System Safety.
- Professionally Registered status or have demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Member of a relevant Professional Safety Institute or equivalent body.
- Experience in the use of ASEMS and System Safety Management Tools & Processes.
- Level 4 NQF in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of safety products or services.
