At Evodia Limited, we’re partnering with a leading client to find an SC cleared Safety Engineer for their pioneering Mobile Fires Platform (MFP) project. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a strong background in military land vehicles and safety management to contribute to a top-priority government-funded programme in Bristol, with flexible hybrid working options.

What’s on offer

  • Location: Bristol / Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week
  • Contract: Until 31 March 2027, with potential for extension
  • Start: ASAP
  • Rate: Up to £440 per day (Inside IR35)
  • Security Clearance: Minimum SC required

The Role

As the Mobile Fires Platform Safety Engineer, you will be a core part of the team delivering the next generation of artillery systems for the British Army. Your expertise will ensure safety requirements are integrated into complex military platforms, supporting the development, verification, and qualification of safety systems across the RCH155 Artillery System’s lifecycle.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll manage safety documentation, specify safety-related architectures, and support safety assurance activities that uphold the highest standards of safety integrity and compliance. Your role involves collaboration with contractors, contributing to safety risk assessments, and providing expert advice to project safety panels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage safety requirements and documentation for the platform, including safety architectures up to the highest safety integrity levels.
  • Support the development and management of robust Safety Management Systems.
  • Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring comprehensive documentation and control.
  • Ensure compliance with safety legislation, policies, and procedures, encompassing quality, security, and sustainability considerations.
  • Provide technical guidance to decision-makers and scrutinise safety-related testing, verification, and validation processes.
  • Manage contractual safety activities, ensuring delivery of safety products and activities that meet project needs.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience working with military land vehicles and associated systems
  • Current or working towards Practitioner status in System Safety
  • Membership of a relevant professional safety institute or equivalent
  • Proven experience in using ASEMS and System Safety Management tools & processes
  • Level 4 NQF in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong technical advisory skills and experience in delivering safety products/services
