Mobile Fires Platform (MFP) Safety Engineer - SC cleared

Are you an experienced Safety Engineer with a passion for defence land systems? Evodia Limited is working with a leading client to find a SC cleared Safety Engineer for the high-profile Mobile Fires Platform (MFP) project, based in Bristol with the option for hybrid working. This is a unique opportunity to support the delivery of next-generation military artillery platforms and to make a real impact on significant land systems used by the UK Defence.

Role Overview:

This safety-focused position involves managing safety requirements for the RCH155 Howitzer, a strategically important capability driven by UK and German collaboration. Your expertise will support the development, safety assurance, and certification processes, ensuring the platform's safety documentation, hazard analyses, and safety management systems align perfectly with military standards and legislation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the safety requirements and documentation process for the platform, including safety-related systems architectures to high integrity levels.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of effective Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Identifying hazards, assessing risks, and ensuring risk mitigation strategies are well documented and implemented.
  • Providing safety advice to project decision-makers and participating in safety testing, verification, and validation activities.
  • Managing safety contracts and ensuring safety activities are delivered to the highest standards, supporting safety assurance activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant safety legislation, policies, and processes across all project phases.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with military land vehicles and associated systems, ideally within defence procurement projects.
  • Practical knowledge of ASEMS and System Safety Management Tools & Processes.
  • Working towards Practitioner-level status or proven equivalent in system safety.
  • Membership of a recognised professional safety institute or similar body.
  • Experience providing technical safety advice and delivering safety products/services within complex projects.
  • Hold or be working towards Level 4 NQF in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • SC clearance is mandatory for this role.

Project & Contract Details:

  • Duration: From ASAP until 31st March 2027, with potential for extension.
  • Location: Bristol-based, with a hybrid work model – 2 days onsite required each week.
  • Travel: Some UK and EU travel can be expected, with expenses covered.
  • Day Rate: Up to £420 (inside IR35).
  • Standard working hours: 7.5 hours per day.
