Are you a SC-cleared Safety Engineer with experience in Defence projects? If so, we may have just the opportunity for you. Our client, a reputable Defence company, is seeking a Safety Engineer to contribute to the innovative GOSHAWK project based in Bristol, offering flexibility with a hybrid working model — one day onsite each week.
This role is a fantastic chance to work on the cutting edge of UK Defence, delivering an Air Defence Capability and developing safety documentation for critical trials. As part of the SIAD Delivery Team, you’ll be involved in developing safety plans, engaging with assurance authorities, and ensuring all safety management processes align with the DE&S Safety and Environmental Management System, OME, DOSR, and DSA Regulations.

What you’ll be doing
You will work within the SIAD Delivery Team, contributing to the GOSHAWK project, which involves developing safety documentation, managing safety for trial activities, and acting as a key interface with stakeholders, including customer representatives, suppliers, and range providers. Your expertise will help to develop and execute safe trial plans while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
What we’re looking for
Essential experience:
- Proven engagement with assurance authorities and management of engineering safety processes
- Experience working with DE&S Engineering Policy
- Knowledge of OME, DOSR, and DSA Regulations
- Hands-on experience with DE&S Safety and Environmental Management Systems
- Experience preparing for OME trials and related activities
Desirable experience:
- Background in GiK or rapid procurement projects
- Holding a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or above
- Professional registration such as IEng, CEng, RSci, or CSci
