Environmental Assessment Manager

OVERVIEW

Our client requires an individual to join the operational delivery team advising Ministers on planning applications on an initial 3 month contract offering up to £450 per day (Inside IR35).

Hybrid working is available from the following office locations: Aberdeen, Birmingham, Cardiff, Darlington, Edinburgh, London and Salford.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will use your experience and skills to provide comprehensive, evidence based environmental advice to inform decisions in respect of nationally significant energy infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008.
  • This could involve projects both onshore or offshore but are expected to include projects related to offshore wind and solar.

SKILLS & QUAIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

  • A relevant environmental sciences undergraduate degree.
  • Relevant experience of writing, reviewing or responding to
    • Habitats Regulations Assessments and
    • Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Proven ability to interpret complex environmental information.
  • Environmental Sciences Degree

DESIRABLE

  • A background or interest in a technical environmental specialism such as
    • landscape & visual assessment,
    • land quality,
    • water,
    • noise,
    • air quality,
    • human health etc.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
