Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineering Lead - SC cleared

Our defence sector client is recruiting for an SC cleared Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineer Lead for a 110 day contract. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement (WfH & onsite in Bristol) and a day rate of up to £570 per day (Inside IR35).

ROLE DESCRIPTION

You will be responsible for all engineering activities relating to ensuring the procured range of Airborne Pods are safe and suitable for service and satisfies the requirements of the contract. COMJAM, RADAR & RADAR SIGNAL SIMULATION and NASMDEF pods provide Radar and Communication Jamming & Simulation assets and Anti-Ship Missile (ASM) simulation with target ship evaluation.

  • The individual will be required to meet the Engineering-Technical Specialist-Professional II role profile in their support to the NATO JEWCS project as the desk officer responsible for the Airborne elements of the project.
  • The individual will be required to participate in the evaluation of technical information provided as part of equipment design reviews, and Integrated Test and Evaluation Acceptance (ITEA) activities.
  • The individual will be required to be a SQEP member of the Project Safety Panel ideally having some experience of Air Safety/Airworthiness/System Safety.
  • The individual will be required to be part of the Logistic Support Committee (LSC) and Training Working Group, working closely with the project ILSM, supporting all ILS aspects across their AoR.
  • The individual will be required to work with/support the Mission Planning System (MPS) Engineering Technical Specialist to ensure compatibility of the air system, supporting MPS working groups and design reviews.
  • The individual will be required to work with/support the project security SME, with attendance at security working groups.
  • The individual will be required to work with/support the Land/Maritime Engineering Technical Specialist to ensure compatibility of the air system with the land/maritime system.
  • The individual will be required to work closely with EW technical specialists from NATO JEWCS and the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA).
  • The individual will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of project engineering documentation utilizing the project Guide for Engineering Activities and Review (GEAR) tool.
  • The individual will be responsible for coordinating the review of contractor supplied documentation supplied for key milestone events.
  • The individual may be required to represent the project at NATO EW working groups/advisory committees.
  • Where required and possible, take ownership for other broad areas of the project to ensure, the project is delivered. This could span from document review, formal correspondence drafting, management of industry and other stakeholders.
  • This role requires meeting attendance at various stakeholder site locations, including but not limited to: Bristol, Bournemouth, Luton, Marlow and RNAS Yeovilton. Overseas travel may also be required.
  • There is no line management responsibility

EXPERIENCE

  • HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with relevant military/civilian experience.
