Are you an experienced Electronic or Mechatronic Engineer with a passion for space technologies? Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and space sector, is seeking an Electronic Systems and Sensors Engineer to join their innovative team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge space projects, with the flexibility of hybrid working, requiring 2 to 3 days onsite each week.
About the Role
As part of the Space Delivery Team, you will be instrumental in delivering vital space-based and ground-based projects for Space Command and CSOC. Your expertise will support the realisation of key objectives, ensuring technical excellence from system requirements through to verification and validation. You will:
- Generate and manage ESS (Electronic System and Sensors) requirements, ensuring clear technical deliverables and documentation.
- Analyse hazards and project impacts, assisting in risk reduction and mitigation strategies.
- Design systems, components, or processes that meet customer specifications within budget, schedule, and performance constraints.
- Lead the testing, verification, validation, and evaluation phases of ESS systems, ensuring successful delivery.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) qualification at RQF Level 4 or higher.
- Extensive experience advising on and delivering successful electronic or mechatronic outcomes, ideally within space technology.
- Professional registration as an IEng, RSci, RMarTech, Adv RITTech, or CPhys.
- A proven track record in managing technical projects, including risk assessments and system design.
- SC security clearance at a minimum.
Desirable further experience includes working in fast-paced delivery environments within the space technology sector.

- Daily Rate: Up to £570 (inside IR35)
- Standard hours: 7.5 per day
