AJAX Integrate Engineering Manager - SC cleared

About the Role

This pivotal position sits within the AJAX programme, managed under the National Armaments Director Group. As the Integrate Engineering Manager, you will coordinate cross-project engineering activities across the programme’s Integrate Pillar, supporting senior leaders such as Project Leads and Chief Engineers. Your expertise will be crucial in resolving technical conflicts and ensuring successful integration across different pillars and functions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Cross-Project Issue Resolution: Oversee the identification, analysis, and resolution of engineering issues impacting multiple projects.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Support Project Leaders and Chief Engineers with strategic input on complex design conflicts.
  • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Promote early detection of design inconsistencies and facilitate proactive mitigation efforts.
  • Oversee Tiger Team Initiatives: Drive rapid, focused problem-solving efforts on critical engineering challenges.
  • Ensure Communication & Coordination: Facilitate aligned, effective communication between engineering teams.
  • Champion Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Support lessons learned and documentation to foster continuous improvement.
  • Guide Risk Management: Lead the identification and mitigation of risks related to integration and design conflicts.
  • Support Delivery: Assist in meeting programme deadlines, quality standards, and objectives.
  • Maintain Standards & Best Practices: Keep teams updated on relevant standards, project specifications, and industry practices.

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Wide-ranging experience in providing technical advice and delivering successful engineering outcomes.
  • Professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or equivalent.
  • Experience managing engineering change and configuration (asset management).

Desirable:

  • Experience within an Engineering Production Environment.
  • Experience managing engineering activities within a Major Defence Programme (GMPP/CAT A).

What We Offer

This contract is initially until 31 March 2027, with scope for extension. It offers a day rate of up to £570 (inside IR35), reflecting your expertise and experience.
