Umbrella Regulation: What's Next for the Recruitment Industry

On the 30th July 2025, Evodia's Managing Director, Rachel Sullivan, attended the REC's exclusive webinar on umbrella regulation – a critical and timely conversation for our industry as we await clarity and reform in this space.

It was a hugely valuable session, with key insights into:

  • The current state of play around government plans to regulate umbrella companies
  • The potential impact on recruiters, contractors, and clients
  • How agencies can prepare for changes that aim to tackle non-compliance and unethical practices

🔍 What stood out most was the REC’s emphasis on due diligence, transparency, and the importance of supply chain accountability. These are all values that Evodia already upholds – and we’re committed to going further.

✅ As a result of this webinar, Evodia will:

  • Continue to work only with FCSA-accredited umbrella partners. As an FCSA Recruiter Partner we have already made this pledge, and the upcoming legislation changes have only reaffirmed our decision to do so.
  • Explore additional steps to audit and verify umbrella compliance using technology.
  • Educate our contractors and clients on the importance of choosing ethical, transparent providers.
  • Stay close to future developments, and ensure our processes adapt as new regulations come in.
